Starring our beloved Mayde Tea Maple Matcha Powder, these little treats are effortless snacks filled with healthy fats, antioxidants and vitamins.

The rich nuttiness of macadamias, almond and coconut pairs with the earthy tones of matcha and just as maple brings warmth and spice to the mix, the element of vanilla and himalayan salt come together to perfectly marry the flavours into one delicious bite.

 

Our Maple Matcha Treats are a celebration of the unique flavours in Mayde Tea's ceremonial grade, organic matcha tea. 

 

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup macadamias
  • 1/2 cup almond meal
  • 1/3 cup desiccated coconut
  • 2 tsp matcha powder
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla
  • pinch of himalayan salt
  • 5 dates
  • 3 tbsp almond butter
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil

 

Method 

Roughly chop the macadamias and add to a large bowl together with the almond meal, coconut, matcha powder, vanilla and salt. Stir together so that all ingredients get to know each other.

Gently warm the coconut oil so that it is melted but not hot before adding to a blender or food processor along with the pitted dates, almond butter and maple syrup. Quickly blitz until combined into a thick paste before adding to the bowl with the dry ingredients.

With the hands, bring together all ingredients until a crumbly mixture is formed and binds together when pressed. In small, even-sized amounts, roll into spheres before placing in the refrigerator to chill. Makes 12-15.

 

Notes

For extra matcha goodness, combine a small amount of additional coconut and matcha powder in another bowl to gently toss and coat the balls in before chilling.
Store in the fridge and served chilled.
